Center for Clinical Epidemiology

Epidemiology as a cornerstone of public health

Epidemiology is the study and analysis of the distribution and determinants of health and disease conditions in the population. Clinical epidemiology and clinical epidemiological research are key functions with regard to practice evidence-based medicine and patient treatment in a modern health care system and in a modern university hospital.

The Center for Clinical Epidemiology at Odense University Hospital (OUH) performs clinical epidemiology at the highest international level focusing on patient diagnostics, treatment, and prognosis. Their research is conducted in cooperation with local, regional, national and international researchers and research institutions.

AI at the Center for Clinical Epidemiology

AI can be natural part of many clinical epidemiological studies, and we hope that AI can help answering important clinical questions in the future. AI projects are new in Center for Clinical Epidemiology, and we have at team in our department working with the theoretical thinking behind AI and real-world handling of large datasets.
