Smith K. Khare

Smith Khare is an engineer and holds PhD in Electronics and Communication Discipline from the Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing, Jabalpur, India.

Before coming to Denmark, he worked as an assistant professor at various schools of engineering in India, and as a research scholar at the Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing.

Smith joined CAI-X in August 2023 after two years as a Postdoc Fellow at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Aarhus University. His primary research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning algorithms, biomedical signal processing and deep learning. Smith was among the top 2% most-cited scientists within his subfield of Engineering and Technology listed in a single year, 2022, according to Elsevier.

In CAI-X, Smith is involved in the PEACE project and will help develop new projects. Smith splits his days between the Maersk Institute at the University of Southern Denmark and the innovation department at Odense University Hospital, the two physical locations of the centre, emphasising the interdisciplinary focus and way of working. 

In addition to his employment in CAI-X, Smith is an assistant professor at SDU Applied AI and Data Science.
