MedTech Odense launches two new calls with up to 19 million DKK for health technology innovation
On 22 May 2026, MedTech Odense opens two new funding calls aimed at supporting research-based innovation and accelerating the development of new health technologies — from idea to patient.
The two calls, 'Need & Idea' and 'Proof & Validation', are open to employees at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and the Region of Southern Denmark, and encourage collaboration across disciplines, institutions, and external partners.
Need & Idea offers up to 200,000 DKK for projects in the early stages of development. Funding can support activities such as maturing relevant knowledge, identifying needs and solutions, and developing early-stage concepts.
Proof & Validation offers up to 1,000,000 DKK for ongoing projects focused on advancing solutions and knowledge to a maturity level where they are ready to be tested, demonstrated, and evaluated in relevant real-world environments.
In total, the owners behind MedTech Odense - the Region of Southern Denmark and SDU - have allocated up to 19 million DKK for the two calls in 2026.
The application deadline is 15 September 2026.

Application workshops to strengthen projects
As part of the application process, MedTech Odense is hosting two workshops: MedTech Match and A Good MedTech Application. The workshops are designed to strengthen applications and support the development of strong interdisciplinary projects.
